11-Story Building Proposed for Swan Cleaners Site Downtown

The proposed building would have 120 apartment units, first-floor retail and a roof-top terrace.

Significantly, a below-grade parking garage accessible from Wall Street is only slated to hold 22 cars. A specialized bike-storage area on the first floor is designed to hold 60 bikes.

New Design to be Presented for 10-Story Building at Grandview Mercantile Site

The Pizzuti Companies will present their latest proposal for the Grandview Mercantile site to the Victorian Village Commission tonight.

The programming and height of the building remain the same as the second iteration of the project, which was presented to the commission last month – a 10-story building featuring 12,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space, five floors of office space and a 164-space parking garage.

New Visuals Unveiled for 11-Story Downtown Development Proposal

Last week, we got our first look at a new 11-story apartment building proposal from local developers Crawford Hoying that would replace the three-story Swan Cleaners building at the Downtown intersection of Cherry Street and High Street if built as planned. While the original article only featured basic building schematics as visuals, we’ve been given an exclusive first look at the building’s initial design, created by local architectural firm DesignGroup.

I'm behind, I know. Couple of updates...

Ohio State is taking a parking lot, destroying it, converting it into wetlands and campus buildings.

Also, the South Campus area is getting an 8-story hotel:

There's a billion new projects I'm not posting but I thought I'd at least drop this one off.

Final design has been approved for the Millennial Tower. Columbus will be adding two new 400+ footers to the skyline within the next several years (The first being this). The tower will add 720,000 square feet of office, retail, hotel, residential restaurant and parking garage space to the RiverSouth neighborhood. At 412 feet tall, the building will become the 10th largest in the city, and second tallest residential building.

Awesome developments! I need to read up more on the Urban Ohio forums about Columbus I guess. But, it would be cool to see you (or someone else) post some news here more often - especially for big projects. I especially like the project that replaces a parking lot with townhouses along the park. There's no reason a surface lot should border a park in Downtown.

Agreed! I'm living in Chicago and from Columbus and it has been awesome to watch everything developing in Columbus on here.

Quick question - in the diagrams of Columbus skyscrapers/buildings, why aren't all of the proposed things in there? For example, the newly-proposed Hilton expansion, or the Millenial tower, etc?

Just a quick question-do you guys think that some form of urban mass transit (light rail, BRT, streetcar or a combo of all 3) be proposed again with all this infill going on?

Yes, COTA is in continual discussion regarding all of that. There is current BRT-lite along Cleveland Avenue that just opened called CMax but it isn't true BRT.

Honestly, because no one does the diagram for Columbus anylonger.

Columbus doesn't get a lot of attention but it really looks like it has a lot of momentum in the city proper.
