The project, known as 999 17th Street, would include a 350,000 SF office tower at the corner of 17th and Curtis and a tower of similar size at 18th and Curtis with possibly hotel and residential uses.

I've known about this project for many months but, since confidentiality was requested, I haven't blogged about it--which was tough to do since it's such an exciting development! I haven't yet obtained permission to post the project renderings.

An entire half block of surface parking in the core Downtown along 17th Street--our "Wall Street of the Rockies"--could go away and be replaced with a vibrant mixed-use high-rise complex. Sweet!

2000 16th Street: DaVita World HQ
15-stories, 270,000 square feet office building. Construction will being in the 1st quarter of 2011. The location sits on the western end of the 16th Street Mall, across the street from the currently under construction Denver Union Station redevelopment.

DaVita World HQ Planned for Union Station District
Posted by Ken on July 16, 2010
It’s official… after months of speculation as to where in Downtown Denver Fortune 500 company DaVita would choose to locate their corporate headquarters, the decision is in. DaVita will locate to 2000 16th Street, the yet-to-be-constructed companion building next to the recently completed 1900 16th tower in Downtown Denver’s Union Station district.

Architecturally, the DaVita tower will not be identical to its neighbor, but it will be complementary in design to 1900 16th Street. The tower will contain approximately 270,000 square feet and will sit next to the Millennium Bridge between 1900 16th Street and the Consolidated Main Line tracks. By the time DaVita gets under construction with their tower (1st quarter 2011), the new light rail station at 17th Street and the CML will be open...

Yeah, it's locked. Comoneymaker and I discussed it and he has agreed to allow me to run a Denver City Compilation thread. So both the High-Rise Rundown: Denver and Denver Projects and Construction! have been locked in the City Compilation forum and I have created this one to take their place.

So please, feel free to post updates and anything you think might need to be incorporated into this master post, and I will work to improve and update it regularly!

I figured it was time to come out of the shadows and finally CONTRIBUTE something to the forums.

After seeing the new Tabor 2 renderings from the developer's site, I got a little antsy and did a little diagram of the building.

If anyone would like to comment on the picture, please do it here. I'd like to stay on the forum administrators' good side, although, I'm sure I broke a rule somewhere already.

I plan on doing some diagram "in-fill" and, perhaps, I'll take a stab at some of the areal photos as well. Anyway, I'm glad to finally be a part of the discussion.

That's a pretty cool diagram. Thanks for posting it. You should post it in the Denver Construction thread in the Mountain West forum.

Thumbs up Proof 1100 15th Street propsed by Hines Is Back In the Works!

The search for evidence and proof that Hines is planning on developing 1100 15th Street with a 40+-story office building has turned up a find. This project shares the other half of the block as the currently under-construction Four Seasons & Residence skyscraper. Hines had proposed an office building back in 2002 on the other half of this block, but canceled it when the office market deteriorated.

In an article (which seemingly has disappeared without a trace) this summer about the 1515 Wynkoop project Hines is constructing in Denver, a Hines official speculated that the office market in Denver was strong enough and pre-leases on 1515 Wynkoop were so strong, that they were thinking of bringing a project at 1100 15th Street back to life.

Several of us forumers read that article, but no one has been able to locate it since. So others have questioned the legitimacy of this speculation. Well, it turns out Hines has brought this project back to life. It also appears Hines has increased it from a 40-story project, to a 42-story project which adds 75,000 sq.ft. of space to it's size. They have also changed it's address from 1100 15th Street to 1144 Fifteenth.

Quote:

This was updated in June and also lists 1515 Wynkoop so it's not just an old document that hasn't been updated. Also, it is a different address (1144 Fifteenth instead of 1100) and about 75,000 more sq. ft.

Well.......here's hoping the market stays favorable and we might get this AND Two Tabor

From DenverInfill.com, here is a skyline rendering depicting Denver with the under-construction Four Seasons & Residence (at right with spire). The 1144 Fifteenth 42-story proposal by Hines would share the block with the Four Seasons tower and would be just left of Four Seasons in this depiction:

Looking good snyder . Its nice to have one main thread now that shows off the upcoming projects for Denver.

1401 Lawrence will be right next to the four seasons and Hines in that rendering above also, so if we get all three projects built that will be one spectacular block!

Denver Justice Center?

If you are talking about west of the Civic Center, that is.

There will also be a new government building on Lincoln and Colfax that is going to look great in another year or two!

Here is the latest update of the Four Seasons Hotel & Residents under-construction in Denver (compliments of our dedicated forum photographers):

-Four Seasons Hotel & Residence:
45-stories, plus three smaller "lantern decks". It is currently designed to top out at 562'-5" to the top of the highest lantern level, with the spire extending above that for a structural height of 635'-9" -- it will cost $350 million - making it the most expensive privately funded building ever built in downtown Denver.

They will be ordering steel for Tabor II by March to be on track for delivery in 2010. I think that bumps Tabor II from proposed status to Planned Status.

Last update of 2007 includes new project thread links (just click each projects title). This update also includes new additions of other Colorado projects at the bottom of the master post. For now, this section is limited to the Ameristar Casino tower and the Cooper Tower.
