Developer releases new renderings of waterfront project

From: Vancouver Business Journal

Quote:
The Grant Street Pier, which will span out 90 feet over the water, “calls to the feeling of a ship’s mast forging through the wind and water,” explained Barry Cain, Gramor president.

The ground breaking for the pier was last month and the pilings are already bringing to be placed in the ground.

Let's hope this happens!

From The Columbian, March 13

Grocer, housing planned for vacant downtown Vancouver lot

A vacant lot in the heart of downtown Vancouver, known locally as Block 10, could be turned into a 250-unit apartment building with a grocery store, city officials announced Monday.

Gramor Development of Tualatin, Ore., the same company currently developing the city’s waterfront, submitted a proposal to turn the empty block cater-corner from Esther Short Park into a mixed-use development with housing and ground floor retail, including a grocery store.

I was in the area last weekend. These are from 4/2. Still in the early stages of construction on the waterfront, but the roads are open and people are already utilizing the space to walk their dogs, etc.

Dewatering is always fun in the Pacific Northwest.

Even more of a task, if you're breaking days-of-rain records.
