The city as a collection of people is very wealthy (12th out of top 280 cities for median income) so development isn't a big surprise. Chicago is one of the top 10 city economies in the world, so it is going to draw investment.

The municipal government has a retirement pension issue, but it's the developers and businesses doing the building.

Harry-- when did you take those shots of Lake and Forest? I think they started pouring cement for the 15th floor on Monday.

The street level shots were from July 22/24 - I'll need to swing by there tonight.

A friend of mine just sent me a shot and they are pouring the floor on fifteen. He lives in the highrise across the street. It's going up pretty fast. At this rate, it'll top out in late Sept. or early Oct.? Just in time for Colt to start prep.
