An update to the News Journal article from a few days ago reveals a few more details on Wilmington Riverfront developments:
1) B/P Group plans to break ground in July on the 100 room Homewood Suites by Hilton project.
2) B/P Group says they will begin working on the proposed 200 room Marriot hotel once the Homewood Suites project ends (I think this project might be on hold after the Big Fish Group announcement -- but we shall see, hopefully not).
3) "Louis Capano & Sons recently began work on a 68-unit, multifamily apartment building at 101 Avenue of the Arts, next to the Gates Building, which houses Barclay's and FireStone Roasting House.
That four-story project is slated to be followed by an eight-story structure with 135 apartments."
^This is the first I've heard of an 8-story apt building to follow this 4-story project currently under construction.
Good things to hear. Sadly, Wilmington is having another awful year with homicides, already 16 homicides as of May 1, for a city of 72,000.
