It's great to see that they have almost completed the first basement level already...the progress on this project is certainly quicker than it was when they were excavating...

Taking a look at the video in the CBC link that waterloowarrior provided above, does anyone else think that it is newly-minted NDP leader Thomas Mulcair walking through at 0:27-0:28?

We may have an explanation for that now: they've been too busy pumping down the local water table to dig any faster.

Looks just like him!!
- I was actually in that area today and saw the CBC news trucked parked on Nepean Street with its areal up and was wondering what it was doing. Now I know why those barricades are there... I thought they were a line up for the Macs in case it turned into a nightclub But I didn't even notice the sidewalks were starting to sink and I was walking right on them.

Hi I'm looking to move to Ottawa to get a job concrete forming. Does anyone know who the general contractor for the site is? Or who has the concrete forming contract?
Thanks for the help.

There is only one majour forming company in Ottawa and that's Bellai. Right Forming is a distant second. Good luck on the job search.

Yes! Good eye! Assuming it's him, he and his entourage look to be coming out of the CBC building, where he would have been doing an interview on Power and Politics.

Guys,

I am looking at purchasing a condo in Tribeca but I was concerned with the views. I am trying to get the view of the Canal with the Congress Centre etc. Which phase would be ideal for this?

I am potentially looking at buying the Bowery in Phase 2 on either 14-15th floor, what kind of views can I expect?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know if it's possible to see the OCC from the Tribeca because I think you'll be starting directly at Place Bell. If you're facing east you will be able to see the Canal and City Hall though. If you really want the Canal and OCC in your view you should wait for Nepean Tower (also by Claridge) which will be where the Tribeca sales office is currently located at 91 Nepean St. From here you should be able to see OCC and the Canal from a East or NE view angle.
Here is the thread for Nepean Tower http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=186817

Hope this helps and if I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected!

Cheers

I don't think any of the units in Tribeca will be able to see the Convention Centre. Both of the Tribeca towers are going to be hugging Nepean St. with the shorter building along Lisgar. As a result, I believe Place Bell will completely obstruct. See diagram below showing the line of view even if you got the most South-East unit in Phase 2.

Place Bell obstructive? But it's so slender and unintrusive!

Yeah, it's not like Place Bell is one of the largest buildings on this side of the river!
