So now that the buildings are demolished/moved does anybody know if they will start building immediately or wait?

They've been steadily working on-site, although there is only one excavator so it is fairly slow. I have seen dump trucks coming and going removing fill. I would say they are at the basement level of the old building or a little deeper on the North end of the site, the South end is just a pile of fill.

Excavation is really moving along at a good pace. On the north end of the site they look to be at least one level deep. The footprint for this building is probably smaller than the others currently under construction, so hopefully we will see a crane in a month or two.

February 2010 Phototour

No real noticable change in the last few weeks though the photo doesn;t show how deeper the hole is;

I hope that eventually all of the power lines on the peninsula get buried, but this is definatly a good place to bury them. That area near the south of barrington/Hollis has the potential to become a really cool, urban neighbourhood. Along with this, SGR and Quinpool should be priorities.

Can anyone confirm that it will be Condos that will be built on this lot and not apartments. Also, has there been any information released from the developer as far as price range, when construction might begin or any other details available?

I live in the area and enjoy it very much. I might be interested in purchasing a condo in the near future and have been waiting for the proposed projects to proceed but things seem to be moving very slowly. There seems to be a limited selection of units available in this part of the city.

They will be appartments and construction is underway. I suspect pricing would be similar to their other building in the area, W Suites.

Wow, this site looks a bit larger than I would have imagined. I guess I was imagining something on roughly the footprint of the corner apartment building.

This is going to be really nice for that part of town.

I didn't see the olympic flame. Or waldo. But every time a foundation is dug out I'm thankful that the building wasn't torn down to make a new parking lot.
