Reyes is due to come back soon. That will be a huge addition to the team.

A wild card birth is certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. But realistically, they need at least one of either Baltimore, New York or Tampa to really tank it. Then of course you've got the other divisions to worry about.

According to Mike Wilner, 'Since that rock-bottom fourth of May (10W-21L) the Blue Jays are 22-15, which happens to be the best record in the American League East over that period.'

Sweet Jesus, when did this happen and how is it possible? Seems to have just snuck up on me.

That was a great game tonight. Felt for Johnson to not get the win, because his performance was simply amazing. But, judging by the smiles he had on the bench, I'm sure he was happy the Jays got the win, regardless of his stats.

A nice little streak here! The Jays and Jays' fans finally have something to cheer about. I am worried about the coming weeks, though. After Colorado leaves town they've got ten against division rivals (3 vs. BAL, 3 vs. TB and 4 vs. BOS). The real test of whether or not this team is ready to compete will come then.

And yeah, Johnson's 0-2 record isn't very pretty but he did shed a whole run off his ERA last night going from 5.40 to 4.38 - not bad for a night's work!

Each win gets them closer to even. They need to go 15-11 to reach .500 by the all-star game.

Just had a quick look through the stats and it's been a while since the Jays last won more than six in a row.

Longest win streaks (no. of times):

2012 - 4
2011 - 5 and 6
2010 - 5 (2) and 6
2009 - 5
2008 - 10 games! I don't remember that. That was a really streaky team.

Team ERA is down to 4.15 which places them 9th in the league. With these good pitching performances adding up, I would expect their ERA to settle in somewhere in the high 3s - realistically - though a lot depends on the big three.

Of note, the Jays have passed both Baltimore and the Rays in team ERA. Baltimore sits at 14th with a 4.45 ERA while Tampa is 13th at 4.37. I wonder when or if those ERAs are going to catch up with those teams and we'll start to see it reflected in their record - we can only hope.
