Steven Stamkos scored his 40th goal of the season
Henrik Sedin recorded his 50th assist of the season
Evgeni Malkin recorded his 70th point of the season

What a night!!!

Also with the Leafs horrible performance on Saturday, the Habs (+3, 12th in the NHL) and the Canucks (+47, 2nd in the NHL) are now the only 2 Canadian teams with a positive goal ratio.

Flames in playoffs as of now!

Big win last night, we really needed it!

Cammy looked great last night, we can actually win a few face-offs when he playing centre. Looked great last night.

And again, great performance by Kipper.

It seems the Nucks for sure will be in the PO's....I think the Sens as well.

Would love to see as many Canadian teams in the PO's as possible, including the Flames

Be nice if Jets could make PO's in their inaugural season. Winnipeg might implode if that happened though.

Vancouver Canucks rated most overrated team in the NHL, per NHL Players poll 2012. They captured 24% of the vote.

/\ Then why can't those same players go out and beat Vancouver if the Canucks are so overrated? Too bad they can't back up the talk. The most accurate ratings are the standings, and the playoffs.

playoffs are meaningless, unless you win it all. Second place is just the first loser. Most of the polls are from reputation. Like it or not, Vancouver does not have a good reputation amongst the league.
Edmonton won the "Best Ice" again, but the ice at Rexall place has been shit for years.

These polls really don't mean shit in the end.

Then what's the point of bringing it up? Another opportunity to bash the Canucks or their fans, even if it doesn't make sense. Anyway, the Canucks and Oilers are playing tonight so I'm willing to make a wager. Whomevers team loses tonight must refrain from posting in this hockey thread for 2 weeks. The stakes are pretty low, but you'll probably bail, just like the Oilers have been bailing from the play-offs for the last six years.

I can see how players can be over/underrated, but teams? How exactly can a team be overrated? Conference standings aren't exactly arbitrary rankings; this isn't college football.

Maybe they mean media hype. But, even then I'd say Vancouver gets about what they deserve.

Unlike the Leafs and Habs media that has somehow trained us all in to believing every single one of their players are potential allstars.

Our performance in the first half of the game was absolutely pathetic... we had 6 shots after 30 minutes.

After tonight's game, Erik Cole should receive a standing ovation. He's currently playing injured (left for the dressing room 3 times tonight, could barely skate at times) but still helps the team.

Congrats to Pacioretty for his 25th goal. He and Desharnais extended their pts streak to 6 games (6 straight games with at least an assist for DD).

He needs 15 goals in 22 games for 40. cmon Patches... you can do it.

How the....

It was just like a month ago we could barely scrap one goal lol

Love coach Noel. Post game Noel's are amazing. Way more entertaining this year than last year with the Moose.

If you have a team that's is in a weak division take the northwest Vancouver has 82 points then Calgary is the next team with 62 points then last year Vancouver did end with 117 point while Calgary 94.

So what's your point? Are you trying to say that the canucks are overrated because they play in the NW division?

We'll try our best tommorow.

Desharnais and Pacioretty will try to extend their pt streaks to 7 games while Erik Cole will play with on a leg and a half. It's amazing he still hasn't missed a single game this season considering he crashes the net like crazy and hits just about as much as other physical forwards (146 hits). Cole, Callahan and Ovechkin are the only players this season with 20+ goals, 140+ hits.

Anyway, you shut those 3 down, you pretty much win the game (they have scored 37% of our goals).

Ah, so it was playing all those NW teams in the playoffs last season that got them through to the finals. I see.

FTR, Vancouver and Calgary are even a 2 wins apiece this season. Calgary has dominated the Avs and Oilers, so if doing well in a weak division is all that matters, they would be right up there. Seems to me that the Canucks do quite well against non-NW teams, too.

Though to be honest, I used to think that way about Detriot, but they're still doing very well despite being in a division with Chicago, St. Louis, and Nashville.
