Haha they're crucial to communicate Child's flat design with Rogers' prominent bracing, so there's a small chance they could get rid of them. Good thing about Silverstein is that they won't let PA's noses to stick were they don't belong, bad thing is they either complete the full tower as envisioned or leave it as a stump, no tricks allowed.

This one is beautiful and will really change downtown's skyline with it's unusual (for NYC) shape. It also appears to have the best glass.

Not to be lost to the thread - I mean I don't know if anyone asked this question and I have been following this site since 1 wtc was a hole in the ground - but is there a precedence for this type of construction. I'm quite sure it has happen before but I haven't noticed any posts relating to another construction with similar issues. Maybe I missed something....
This is the best though...
I don't even think it will be high enough to be called a "stump". They've got the foundations built, the necessary connections for the entire complex. The tower will rise unimpeded when it lands a tenant and achieves financing. And yet its still a year or two ahead of most other New York supertall proposals.

I can really see those elevator banks forming, as well as the staircase fit-out forming. And if you look closely at the photo NYGuy posted, you can see the underground concourse connector exits from the 2WTC.
Idk I don't really like 2WTC, to me it looks like the top half of the building fell off...1 and 3WTC are the best but thats just my opinion!
I have to agree. I don't know if it's the design as much as it doesn't look right with the rest of the wtc complex imo. I don't think any look as great as 1 wtc. But I think 4 wtc has awesome glass. If it's going to be a long delay on 2/3 being built next, I hope it's 3 wtc that gets built to completion. A much cooler look over 2 imo. BUt I don't want to steal any of 1 WTC's thunder. It's a 1 wtc thread and I can't say one bad thing about it. I think those glass on the base is going to look cool at night, with the led lights.

One World Trade Center's roof height is 1,362 feet. The parapet brings it to 1,368 feet. Two World Trade Center's roof eight would be 1,270 feet, and it's mast will bring it to 1,350 feet.

I think it looks good by itself but doesn't fit in well with the rest of the Trade Center buildings. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out how it looks in real life.
