I'm really curious to see how the facade will fade from black to gold and silver at the peaks like the rendering shows. That's a really nice design touch.

Perhaps some of the panels will be painted/given an application of half gold or silver.

IOW, the bottom will be black and th transition starts. It will be interesting.

As I said a bit earlier, this is a nice compensation for the height decrease.

This building already stands out pretty quite well once you go north of ~60th St. Still got a good amount of height left to go.

^that last picture, looks like the future. As in I can't believe the skyline looks that gigantic today. Seems like it's something you see in a movie of New York 50 years from now

I wish the Men in Black would use that little device they have so I forget what the skyline looks like or that the city exists for that matter, so I can rediscover it for the 1st time again. We've obviously seen it many many times, and still get amazed. I wish I could experience that intense euphoria that a 1st time visitor gets. That holy shit moment as energy runs through your veins.

The whole place u/c really. A giant construction zone.

The skyline does awe folks. Even the ones that have seen it and live and breath in the area continue to be wow'd. A testament to the gold standard.

Whats overkill is all thats going on. But overkill never hurt anybody ya know... it only makes you convulse in amazement.

^ I don't even think we're ready for the impact we'll get when those towers top out. It's one thing get a drawing or rendering. Seeing it play out in reality will blow us away.

The recovery time for that might be short-lived when we start seeing new proposals or stalled/pipelined projects ready to roll (CIP the Park Lane development, 5th Avenue/NOMAD, UES, Midtown East yadda yadda......).

I'm caling it 750'-ish to structure peak by now.

^ Yeah. When we look back on it, we'll group these towers by when they were built.

I like this lady's spirit. Why wait for it to be done? It's already art worthy.

I love the look of skyscrapers under construction . .
orange netting & all . . even shitboxes can look interesting at this stage . .
most buildings 3/4 of the way done, look better than they eventually will . .
when their final boring product look is complete . .
hopefully that shouldn't be the case here . .

I hope every single construction worker who helps these supertowers rise realizes that they're a part of NYC history.

Those paintings cry for a spot either in their own display at MOMA or at the 53W53 lobby.

Not me. I’m impatient and always want them to be done.

BTW, but will the top be where the top of the crane is now?
