OKC is my favorite city in the south. It's buildings fit together so well. Devon is a very good addition in my opinion

thanks everyone for the comments. I am an OKC expat and am so proud of my hometown, and looking for more to come. ...

Just to remind the folks from out of town. The space that Devond had in their old building, it already taken. Continental Energy moved their entire corporation from Enid to OKC, bought Devon's old buildling, and is moving in as each floor is vacated.

The space they had in First National will probabl not be taken back. But my guess is the city will be buying it up soon like they did with the Skirvin and convert it to residential given its poor history as office space. So all that "extra" space people talk about in downtown vacancy, really isn't. Class A space is (and always has been) difficult to find downtown. Mostly B and C has been there in the recent past because of the lack of construction. Downtown is a much different place than it was in the 90's.

And FYI - Cheasapeake isn't going anywhere just because McClendon is a worm. He's yet to have been accused of doing anything illegal, just sneaky. And really not even sneaky since the board approved it all. The board has changed, but if control of the company changes, there are millions upon millions in bonus dollars that must be paid (by contract) to employees. Not only that, but he's still the CEO and will probably stay that way. And even if he doesn't, why would that mean they have to move? The company itself is still doing great and raking it in faster than they can use it....and they're constantly building on their campus. They can't build fast enough to keep up with employee hiring!

So if you dont' live here and know what's happening on a day-to-day basis, you can't speak to what the outlook is. It's that same old story of "OKC can't do that, they're just a bunch of hicks". So i'll repeat my "give you the finger" post here. Take a look folks, Devon is telling you what it thinks of your debbie downer syndrome.

And FYI - Devon isn't leasing space out of their building either. So you can't even count the tower's extra floor space in vacancy rates. They simply aren't finishing out floors until they're needed. They just pre-planned (and pre-paid might i add) enough growth potential to never have to rely on other buildings again. Their relationship with FNC is probably one thing that caused that. Booyah.

bomber, Im not sure why the hostile post that wreaks of insecurity - but points are well taken.

I do agree in principle, that folks tend to quickly cast doubt or negativity on anything OKC. But OKC people should move on and enjoy your city; constantly defending or explaining this and that seems childish and immature.

OKC has done wonders to its city and you all have lots to be proud of. It is nice to see folks defend OKC now, but explaining this and that is a bit ridiculous (nobody knows or cares that much about the inner workings of OKC). ...

Just do the Chicago principle - and move on.

I love that bridge! I like when cities think outside the box and make eye catching features out of what could otherwise be pretty mundane.

A crown jewel in the skyline of Oklahoma City, and in the portfolio of Pickard-Chilton.

It's a great looking tower, no doubt; But I really do think fitting in with the surrounding buildings is crucial and this sucker Looks at least like it's twice as high as anything else.
I know nothing can be done about it but I think it's an important point.

Dominates? I don't think it even knows it is standing in the middle of a skyline. It's looking around at clouds.
