istanbul: a visit to kadikoy neighborhood on the asian side

the asian side is kind of like the queens of istanbul.
the kadikoy neighborhood is built over the former ancient city of chalcedon.
however, relics going back to 5500BC have been found there.

first is the charming commuter ferry ride across the sea of mamara and
over the mouth of the bosphorus from karikoy in the old city

the evil eye symbols are seen everywhere in various forms over shops and homes.
it might be fun to play wheres waldo finding them in the picture as i put up other istanbul threads lol!

they make easy tourist gifts to bring home too - much easier than a rug

Nice photo tour. Istanbul has changed alot since I was last there (25 years ago).
