Great updates! In particular, it is nice to see Griffintown come into its own. Last time I was in town, there was nothing of any real note there.

But who the hell thought it would be a good idea to graft on that malignant sanitized glass tumor to an otherwise lovely Ritz-Carlton building?!

Provencher Roy + Associés

I generally am not a fan of contemporary additions on old buildings, but I think this one works quite well.

From what I can tell, it looks like quality work whether you like the style or not. I do.

Love the photos!
Yeah Jeff Loria is a the worst person alive.
Any ideas when or if this project might go back into the loop?

In my mind, this is dead and buried. Major League Baseball has left and will not come back. Kids play soccer these days and no longer play baseball. On top of it, ÉTS built a pavilion on a portion of the site. It would have been awesome 10 years ago but now, only nostalgia remains.

That's too bad! I think if this city builds a Ballpark downtown (Like the project Labatt Park) - Then the Expos have a good chance at coming back,
Read this article of why Baseball could work again in Montreal

It's a long shot but don't discount the possibility.

I would certainly love it, but no more Jeffrey Lorias, please!

This looks kind of neat, though maybe it is already posted. Still, I post it again: Le Canal, Phase 2:

Did anyone else notice something is happening with PVM's facade. Maybe it is getting a face lift like First Canadian Place in Toronto?

I think it's part of renovations that started back in 2011. I don't think they're doing anything on the exterior though... There's a thread about this on mtlurb

Btw, this thread needs a major overhaul if it wants to remain useful. The opening post from Gilbert dates from like, 1500.

I though this was the place to announce a new project, before it got its own thread... I guess I had never seen the original post

At the moment MONTREAL :: Les Projets acts as the main compilation thread for locals.

Having said that, most cities only have one compilation thread. I'm thinking that it might be time to close both this thread and MONTREAL :: Les Projets and create an entirely new updated thread (tagged Montreal, and listed in "Montreal Projects & Construction") here in the City Compilations forum.

I'm thinking that we could have general purpose threads in the Montreal section (perhaps threads by neighbourhood or type/height of project?).

What do you think?

I agree MTLSKYLINE, This thread is outdated and should be closed in favor of a new one. I am not sure about the other one in the local section.

MTLskyline, are you also authorized to update buildings in the database? I was looking at the interactive map and many updates could be done (ex.: construction statuses in Griffintown)

If someone wants to make a new thread listing all of the major projects (with rendings of them) you are welcome to. I won't really have the time to compile this list for at least 3 weeks.

Regarding the database, making a thread in the Building Requests & Database Corrections forum is probably the best way to get someone to modify things. Unfortunately I don't have database editing rights. I think the members that have green names are the only ones that do (aside from the site administrator of course).

This, my friend, is apparently the next building part of Cadillac Fairview construction spree! AKA Windsor tower 2
A thread has been started on it I believe!
