I listen to podcasts, music, and local radio stations. It keeps me going.

I was in a Company marked vehicle when pulled over. I just polity asked the officer if she could cut me a break because I was driving a company vehicle. Promised to slow down.

And Walla!!!

I'm in Edmonton now! Spent 5 days behind the wheel, but was forced to spend an extra day in Thunder Bay due to a snow storm. Amazing trip. The transition from Canadian Shield to prairies was one of the most fascinating things I've ever experienced.

i was just in edmonton last weekend and my friend noticed and i noticed there are a lot of africans there and lots of muslims, there is even a halal mary browns

and we were in one area just west of chinatown i guess and it seemed everyone walking around was black, and lots of shops and restaurants which seemed african

anyway my friend was surprised and said they seem to have a larger black population than vancouver which they definately seem more visible in edmonton

The diversity of Edmonton is beautiful and demonstrates how cosmopolitan this City is.

I had an older relative visit from Europe. He was pleasantly surprised by the huge number of Asians - both brown and yellow - that are here now vs when he was last here. I pointed out to him that most Canadian cities and towns are similar but that the ethnic diversity was even more pronounced in Vancouver and Toronto.

Do you guys ever have Edmonton SSP meetups? I'd be interested in meeting some fellow skyscraper/geography-nerds.

Edmonton to Vancouver is about 1100km, if you go the jasper route. Fairly do-able day trip. If you leave at 6am you should be pulling into the city 12 hours later for dinner 13 hours if your bladder is small and you didn't pack snacks. Stopping in Kamloops for a sleep makes the trip super easy if you need two days. For me, timing always has hinged on how busy traffic is in the park. From Hinton to the BC border; speed limits vary from 70 to 90; single lane. So getting up early (5am); your typically past/through the park by 9ish.
