Beautiful long phototour across Boise! Thanks for sharing so many pictures, Sawtooth. Very good job!

Boise is a lovely city. I´ve liked a lot those pictures of Boise from a hill or mountain in its surroundings, yes, those pics at sunset.

By the way, how has Summer been in Boise this season? I´ve observed you´ve reached many days highest around 95ºF to 100ºF. Is that usual? I think Summer in Boise is similar to Madrid´s. But Boise´s landscapes are so green and with so much vegetation, that´s absolutely different to Madrid. Besides, I think winters there are really very cold, while in Madrid are normally cool.

Well, congrats once more for your tour and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Thanks Danny. This summer has been hot with temps in the high 90's and low 100's for a longer period of time then the norm. It is common for us to have highs in the 90's through much of July and August. This first week of September has been lovely with highs in the 80's and rain off and on with deep blue sky's and fresh air. Winters in Boise are generally pretty mellow, the deep snow is up in the mountains while the valley has rain and a few times during winter we can have measurable snow in the city. The winter temperatures are a bit warmer then most other regions in the Mountain West. During winter a person can either ski up at Bogus Basin above town or play a round of golf down in the valley.

The landscape in Boise is green and lush in season. The valley is blessed with water, we have the river, numerous creeks that flow into the city, a lot of ponds and a large underground aquifer which all contribute to the city being an oasis. The high mountain desert extends east, west and south of the valley/city while the mountains that rise above Boise extend north, east, and west of the city with forests and a lot of rivers and creeks. The valley west of Boise stretching towards the Idaho-Oregon state line is a rich agricultural region that includes extensive fruit orchards and vineyards and a large wine region called the Snake River AVA . The nickname of the valley is the Treasure Valley.

A few friends from the Basque Country in Spain visited Boise this summer for the yearly San Inazio Festival. I'm hoping to get over to that area of the world next year to visit them

I need to ride on the green belt and float the river with my boys. Tell them about the good ole days of 1999-2001 in the city of trees.

Amazing set Sawtooth.

Thanks for the comment eastidaho. I take it you were here for college during those years?

Boise is an enlightened and tolerant city; live and let live. It's a fun place to express yourself.

I know almost nothing about Boise and Idaho but from the photos I've seen on this forum, it strikes me as a mini-Denver, crunchier and more progressive than I would expect—and really beautiful.
