Ochsner Health / SEBR

Ochsner Health System will invest more than $100 million to expand its Baton Rouge-area facilities, including building a new medical office building, a 10-bed micro-hospital and surgical center near the Mall of Louisiana.

The planned five-story medical office building and attached 30,000-square-foot micro-hospital and surgical center in The Grove development near the Mall of Louisiana in the Bluebonnet-Siegen area will serve as the western anchor, with room for future expansions.

Florida tiger, would you happen to have any information on the PMAC renovations, more specifically the new video/scoreboards they're installing? I think the basketball program is trying to keep these renovations sort of low-key so they haven't released any updates on the construction or renderings. I have heard that the video boards are already being installed.

LAtoTX, work is underway on what will be the largest center hung videoboard in college basketball. is compared with those in the NBA, it would rank 11th in size among all center hung boards in NBA arenas.

a link to the story on Yahoo Sports, https://sports.yahoo.com/lsu-apos-ma...172231622.html

Other renovations, such as removal of the four "ramps" and opening of the corners with ground to ceiling windows have also been discussed, no renderings yet.

Smile Electric Depot

New to this forum here.

I thought I’d post an update from the Advocate on the Electric Depot development. Since this article is a bit of old news (6 weeks). has anyone seen any work begun on the site yet?

“Work set to begin before year end on Electric Depot” BY TIMOTHY BOONE | TBOONE@THEADVOCATE.COM SEP 21, 2017 - 5:29 PM

http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rou...f3de7ae4e.html

“Construction of the $20 million redevelopment of the former Entergy site on Government Street should start before the end of the year, one of the project’s developers told the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority.

Dyke Nelson, of Weinstein Nelson Development, said there will be “no problem” with completing the first phase of the Electric Depot development before the end of 2018.”

CBD/ Trahan Condominium Project

Architect Trey Trahan is planning one of the most ambitious developments yet for downtown Baton Rouge—a 24-story, high-rise of luxury condominiums overlooking the Mississippi River at the intersection of North Boulevard and River Road.

As envisioned, the development would be a sleek, glass pencil skyscraper with a ground-floor lobby and, above it, 23 one- and two-bedroom units of about 2,000 square feet each. Only one unit would comprise each floor.

The building’s pencil design is necessitated by the dimensions of the property on which Trahan would build. It’s a lot of just 2,185 square feet he has owned for more than a decade. It’s situated behind Lafayette Park and across North Boulevard from the Old State Capitol grounds.

The building’s design would be unlike any other in Baton Rouge with 10-foot, floor-to-ceiling, exterior glass walls on three of the building’s four sides. The huge glass sheets would not be held in place by the metal frames or mullions that are typical in skyscrapers, which would enable residents to have an unparalleled view of the city.

The high rise would also be priced unlike anything else around. Trahan says units would sell for between $2 million and $2.5 million. He estimates the total price tag of the project would be more than $50 million.

The Vue on Parker / South BR

https://th.bing.com/th?id=OIF.pf8xUv...id=ImgDet&rs=1

https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.town...ize=1119%2C433

Fountain Residential Partners, a real estate developer out of Dallas, is constructing The Vue on Parker, a student housing community on West Parker, the company announced Thursday.

The complex will be marketed to LSU students and include 132 apartment homes and 294 beds in a boutique community setting. The Vue will include studio and five-bedroom apartment homes and community features such as a pool area and a clubhouse.

Fountain Residential chose the area partially because it’s a triangular site bound on all sides by public streets, giving the company the opportunity to construct a triangular, Flatiron-style building, says Trevor Tollett, executive vice president.

Leasing will begin in the third quarter of 2022, and the project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2023.

Fountain Residential partially raised capital for the project using crowdfunding platform CrowdStreet Inc. First United Bank and Trust is the construction lender.

The 75,000 square foot, three-story building will be dedicated to academic and student development functions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

St. Francis Hall represents the initial step in the development of the University’s campus master plan. Located at the corner of Brittany Drive and Picardy Avenue, this building will serve as the front door to a cohesive and identifiable campus.
