Apartment buildings are nice but you can't beat front porches.

My apartment doesn't have a front porch, but it has the next best thing, a large, 4th floor deck. My place to wind down on weekend nights enjoying a fine cigar. (my avatar photo was taken up there)

Kwame Kilpatrick received 28 years in federal prison yesterday. The longest sentence ever given to a corrupt politician. It was a good day.

David Hamilton got Life in Florida.

He was fired from his job as a county administrator in suburban Tampa in 2011 and I think now he is just "retired".

^ It's shocking how many factual and grammar errors appear in local news. It seems to have gotten much, much, worse in the recent journalism depression.

So I was grocery shopping today and noticed that the store was more empty than usual for a Saturday afternoon. In fact several queues were empty and eagerly awaiting paying customers. Now I know why...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/1...n_4090647.html

Sucks for those folks, but the empty lines and close-in parking were delightful this afternoon. I don't want to sound like a tea-partier, but I've been stuck behind people arguing with the cashier about their EBT cards and I've seen some (probably illegal) shit.

Yes, that is my cactus. It's twice as large now but still in the same small pot so it's very top-heavy. I'll re-pot it one day.......or maybe never.

Funny, because I'd actually read - and I'm pretty sure it was in the News - that Kilpatrick's time tied another politicians. Maybe, I saw it in the Freep and attributed it to the news.

I guess it said "one of the". Anyway, I swore that's what they said.
