Smile Your city in 10 of YOUR OWN photos

I'm so tired of googled or Flickr'ed pictures - so I thought I'd make a thread where people post a couple of their OWN photos of their OWN city with a link to where one can find more of them - basicly like a teaser for your city-photo thread

The rules are simple, 1 to 10 of your OWN photos of your own city in a not too large or too small resolution - preferable with a link or two to where one can find more

Oh yeah and I'm hoping our North American users will share their places too!

And feel very free to add a little info on what the photos show

I might as well start with my own city: Copenhagen

An overview over the downtown area

An overview towards the island of Amager with the bridge to Sweden in the horizon

Amagertorv - one of the city's oldest squares

Strøget pedestrian street - the largest in Europe

Christiansborg Castle - home of the Parliament - seen from the old town

The canals of Copenhagen

Nyhavn - an old redlight district turned into a beer garden paradise ( they serve food too if you are into that stuff )

Vikings looking over the border to the old town ( City Hall Square on the left )

"Old Kings Road" running trough the district of Frederiksberg

"Vesterbrogade" twisting trough the city

Although I live in Long Beach, it also share the region with its much bigger sister L.A., so I figure it would be okay to share this as well. Long Beach actually borders the city of LA as its link via the Vincent Thomas bridge, but downtown L.As is about 22 miles away from central Long Beach.

Great idea FREKI, I'm ignoring the rule, but I think my format will keep bandwidth down and thread readability up.

St. John's, NL, Canada. People could search for my threads in City Photos on St. John's, but there's more stuff available at the flickr link anyway.

Left to right, top to bottom:

Ches’s, a St. John’s institution; fine dining on Water Street; the usual jellybeans; not many chain convenience stores in St. John’s; local mechanic

the usual view across the harbour; sometimes inconvenient; the view from Signal Hill; George Street bar; the view of Fort Amhearst from Signal Hill

late afternoon on the rare sunny days is spectacular; Water Street; church at Quidi Vidi; looking down towards the harbour; local beer at Quidi Vidi Brewing Company

usual jellybeans; icebergs; so green in the smmer; Water Street again; Georgestown area

a great place to see ducks; local street art; ubiquitous birch tree; sunset over Pleasantville; old stone buildings

Toronto!

I enjoy taking pictures of the dark, gray, cold, lonely side of the city. Though in actuality I much prefer the warm, vibrant, eclectic side.

Cleveland

As always, more images are available at my site http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/

An ore freighter makes its way through the curves of the Cuyahoga River, under the Detroit-Superior Bridge and past the Center Street swing bridge. The freighter is approximately 650 ft. (200m) long!

Edgewater Beach, west of downtown Cleveland:

The 137-foot (42m) clock tower of the West Side Market, bracketed by the arches of the Detroit-Superior Bridge:

The gothic-inspired Union Gospel Press building in the Tremont neighborhood - currently being renovated into residential units. http://www.tremontplacelofts.com/

The Euclid-Epworth Methodist Church at the Wade Park Lagoon in the University Circle neighborhood:

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Public Square, with the Terminal Tower in the background:

East 4th Street - once a rundown stretch of pawn and wig shops, now a hopping mixed-use neigbhorhood. http://www.east4thstreet.com/
