Yes - it really stands out - I wonder how the rest of the spine is going to be lit.

Does anybody know if they plan on projecting the light from the spine upwards into the sky as well? The render makes it appear so. Imagine a beam of light shooting up into the sky another 2-300 feet. It would look sick.

The crane cab is down, but as of Friday the tower was still coming down (a little less than half remaining).

Comcast Headquarters reminds me of Canary Wharf in London's East End. Comcast Tech reminds me of a cross between the American Empire State Building and the signature building in Frankfurt. I can't deny how downtown Philadelphia really has a European look with this tower, possibly more than any other skyline in America which is makes it very distinct.

I can't wait to see how this tower will look when the interior is fully complete; when the hotel portion is up and running; and when the spine is completely lit which I will assume will happen when its complete. Of all the towers built in the last decade this may be my favourite here on this side of the pond; it is very distinct and different no matter whether one likes it or not which individuals are sure to do.

I walked by the tower's 18th street entrance; spectacular. This should be referenced in magazines and for movie sets.

Different people love skyscrapers for different reason; individuals are different and this is really to be appreciated. When I consider well the whole scene of the skyline and reflect on the possibility of a Comcast 3 or a tower in Schuylkill Yards and the 30th Street District; they may equal or exceed Comcast Tech in height but this building will still stand out despite future plans which is great. Onward to Comcast 3.

Lord Norman Foster is brilliant, that’s a fact!
There’s no doubt Philadelphia is fortunate to attract his attention.

And by attract his attention you mean Comcast was willing to pay a huge fee to Foster + Partners.

Chris08876, man-you pulled out all the stops for these amazing high resolution pictures...totally stunning! This is what I mentioned about appreciating CTC and the architects attention to details. The details are far above and beyond any of the current modern buildings.

I think an often overlooked attribute, but very important IMO is how a tower, a work of architecture... interacts with light. The various elements in place all play with the light very well. A tower such as thing can't really be appreciated on a cloudy day, but if you get a crystal clear day, with good sun, unobstructed, it really shines as the facade, cross bracing, concrete, and various glass panels and gradations absorb that light, and radiates stunning, intricate details.

Similar tower where light makes it appear much more grandiose is currently Steinway. I expect 45 Broad and 9 Dekalb to exhibit great detail during optimal periods of sunlight.

Comcast Tech Center wins in that respect. On a side note, it also looks good at night too, so thats a plus.

The same can be said for the Hearst Tower and you will see that when 425 Park is built.

All three by Lord Norman Foster, no doubt!

To further add to your comments, as I’ve stated before, when the sunlight moves throughout the day,it makes the buildings outer skin look different as light bounces off the geometry and angles of the fins and cross-braces and other raised features.
