Midtown photography never gets boring, even if half those towers didn't exist. I still get chills from the video that was posted here some time ago of a worker climbing the spire, Amazing.

I have to say, those two (Conde Nast and BofA) make fine siblings...

There is nearly no light at the spire's tip. Other than 4 Times Square's antenna.

It took me a while to warm up to this building. Perhaps because it is in the same vicinity of, and built at the same time as the New York Times Tower--which happens to be the best skyscraper built anywhere in the last 20 years. But after some time I have come to appreciate the incredible glass, the majestic lobby, and even the awkward shape. It really is a beautiful tower.

The one thing that bothers me about this tower is the way they have it blocked off at the street. The sidewalks are crowded enough, you feel like you're in some kind of holding pen walking around in front of the tower. That being said, I think both this tower and the Conde Nast with its extended antenna diminish the impact of the Times tower nearby, and that's a good thing.

You took the words right out of my mouth, but I guess when the contruction of this tower kinda came to a hault most of the way through the image of it in that state (2007-2009) might of burned into a lot of people's minds as to what the final product does look like, but I guess people like you and I know better probably because we have payed a hawks eye on this tower during its contruction and even during the lastz six months when things were finalized...

BTW NYguy, awesome finds!!!

I disagree. I don't see how it looks unfinished at all. I don't think BofA is a really great tower, but I think its 10 times better than Conde Nast. BofA actually attempted a dynamic modern design, which counts for a lot in my book.

The spire still needs to be better lit.
