So yesterday I met this gentleman while I was painting the One Vanderbilt construction site on42nd Street. He is in charge of the iron workers and we got to discussing how many trades are involved in a single project. He reckons there are 20 trades on this project alone!

It's the viewpoint. Anything will look bigger with similar vantage points. How is this not obvious? You stand 5 feet from a camera, with a large mountain 200 miles away and you will dwarf said mountain. Schools should focus more on critical thinking...
Its a rendering not an actual photo and there may be some intent to make it look bigger than it actually will be compared to the ESB. Poor attempt on your part in trying to sound smart.
Prezrezc you are right about the name. This building also appears in post# 2612 4th pic lower right. 1V will top out at 1401 feet. W.R. Grace is 630 feet.
Does anyone know the name of the building directly opposite One Vanderbilt on 42nd Street?
Not sure which one you mean.
