TOWER POWER

November 25, 2007 -- I am not surprised that Deutsche Bank caught on fire again recently ("Downtown Dithering," Nov. 18).

As usual, the LMDC was cutting corners just so that it could meet a deadline.

Of course, it won't just be the demolition of the Deutsche Bank that will delay the official plans. The Freedom Tower still has no tenants, and the costs have increased within the last year.

Once Gov. Spitzer sees all these problems with the official plan, he should go back to having the Twin Towers rebuilt, an economically cheaper solution.

Tal Barzilai, Pleasantville
That don't even make sense. So scrapping the FT plans now and going back to the drawing boards to rebuild not one but two even larger towers is "an economically cheaper solution?"

What is this Tal B person smoking?

Or better yet, what is he smoking and DRINKING? This little boy isn't missing a trick!!

My razor-sharp mind was right! He posted that sick story in that controversial thead that he restarted over at SSC!! And I didn't even have to go there to find out because it came to me in an e-mail.

Yeah, he honestly thinks that they should stop building the Freedom Tower and put the Twins back there.

Why won't he just go on and have a 2 or 3-ft. model of those towers made for him so that he can go home and look at them 24/7/365 to have and to hold from this day forward, and in sickness and health for as long as he shall live? Haha!!

Yeah Speedy;

Nice to see the other crane back in action. With very minimal work stappage, I might add!

Also, there appears to be a flatbed truck over near 7 WTC. Wonder if more steel was delivered on it, because there seems to be more steel add to the base now, than there was before. The interior support columns.

Yes, TalB, I'm sure that everyone will now scrap all the design and construction work that's been done to date, just to recreate a 1950's design over the horizon of lower Manhattan!
Sadly, a lot of them still believe that...

Once the FT is built, I hope that he is able to turn his obsessive compulsiveness towards another cause...like global warming, a cure for cancer, or an action plan for the Jets.

Not so fast. Not quite. Not just yet.

Yeah, the rest of the site. The eastern half of Ground Zero.

That little boy will want those towers over there shitcanned and then he'll try to work on having the Twins rebuilt on THAT side! Just like he's trying to have the FT stopped

This compulsiveness with him, I'm afraid, will NEVER stop, at least not until all of the planned towers are built. Watch. He won't be convinced maybe until the entire project is completed.

Himself and Epstein once said that they would fight for the former towers with every breath in their bodies. Well, let's just hope that they don't hold their breath! They're both in for a rough time trying to get what THEY want rebuilt.

God himself couldn't fix the Jets!

Back on topic, things seem to be coming along quite nicely at the site. Does anyone know when the next order of steel will be arriving on site?

And now....Dancing Bananas

Thank You

The steel columns have arrived once a year so far. The next bunch will probably appear next year. The rebar bundles arrive almost every other day.

Ground Zero, I believe, appears in the new Will Smith movie I Am Legend. Another sci fi movie filmed in New York City.

Yeah, I'm looking foward to that movie. It looks pretty good, and it's cool to see what Manhattan would look like it it were abandoned.
