^^^ That first photo is exactly the lighting conditions I'm talking about. During the right times of the day the angle of Trump Tower causes it to just light up with the sunrise or sunset like it's on fire. That is what has really brought me around to liking this building.

I do have to say that it is very well massed to just meld right into the surrounding cityscape. Not sure that is a 100% good thing though.

Trump suspends retail leasing effort: 'I'm in no rush'

By: Alby Gallun February 01, 2012

The big retail space in Donald Trump's riverfront skyscraper has sat empty so long that the brash New York developer has stopped courting tenants to fill it.

Now that's what I call a view. It would be even better if Chicago's history wasn't so tainted with cancelled projects. I'd rather put a mattress on the roof and sleep there than pay millions to sleep a few floors below.

Same can be said for New York. Anyway, that is a crazy video. I started getting nervous when the camera got to the very edge and started looking down.

Yes... a 1500 ft tower plus a big spire... total 2000 ft!

To all those who said the US would never see supertalls after 9-11 this was the first of many to come to prove that wrong.

It's also an amazing building.

I think Chicago will see a new tallest someday, maybe not the Chicago Spire, but something.
