U3 website has nothing new. I know they seem to be focused on their 42nd and Baltimore project and their staffing is small, so maybe they want to get this under their belt before taking on what they consider their flagship project.

I saw Fergie at his new beer garden yesterday and asked him about the project. He told me he has a meeting with U3 AND Goldenberg this Friday (tomorrow).

Whenever I think this thing is dead, something new happens. Just witnessed a large machine (backhoe/excavator something with an arm and a bucket) being moved onto this site. No permits or anything posted... unless Brickstone is parking machines for their chestnut st project here...

Right now they are digging a few test pits to determine different soil conditions. Construction is still pretty far out. Maybe 2nd Quarter of 2015.

Aw heck, that's still a lot sooner than the "never" that I had assumed. I can wait a few months. I'm just excited that this is actually happening. This is a terrific development. It's quite well designed and gets rid of a prominent surface lot.

Because construction is proposed to begin in several months usually means that lots of other ducks still need to be lined up before anyone to feel confident that it will actually happen.

What matters is having very legally strong financial commitments in place. Without that, all date estimates are basically just air blown around.

For this or other perpetually delayed projects, the key question is: is there a tight financing commitment yet? If not, don't hold your breath.

I looked at it- all it says is previously issued approvals have been extended until 2016. Nothing exciting.

Apparently a Goldenberg representative said they intend to break ground later this year, and the owner of Fergie's mentioned mid-July. Looks like this one is revived from the dead yet again!
