That's the Liberty Bell Pavilion?
I recall years back when it was in a glass Pavilion facing Independence Hall.
It looks like the new Comcast Innovation & Technology Center is honoring the Pavilion with the design in a very sleek and modern approach to welcome people to the new tower.

As for 19th & Cherry (property acquired by Liberty Property Trust), a possible third tower could rise (although they won't disclose any future plans at this time as they evaluate their growing needs to determine the total height desired).

So you are asking Comcast what it takes to build more towers?
In one word, success.

Comcast is doing a phenomenal job for the city and the state.
It appears to me that Liberty Property Trust is buying up land long before the need arises.
It's as if they are examining the Philadelphia map of the Central Business District and strategically planning how to shape the skyline long before the demand exists.
I'm sure the executives at Liberty Property Trust just love Comcast. Their portfolio is remarkable. I give them credit for their brilliance.

In fact, I would love to see Liberty Property Trust develop the east side of Broad to create a balance on the skyline.

Thoughts?

LPT is amazing at what they do. I'm sure after the two East market towers draw to a close they'll take a look at that area and do something

I took these pictures this morning, from street level looking up it looks like the glass is climbing on the northwest corner of the hotel but it's hard to tell from the ground; seeing PHL10s picture above it appears so. I can say this, there is a ton of activity going on there & those elevators are buzzing up & down. As I was gawking at the western tip one of the workers shouted over the fence to me that I have to see it from the top so of course I asked him to take me up there and he of course laughed at me

And by the way, they need to add a point to the center of the middle section of the east face at the highest level of the office section to complete the Christmas tree pattern

I had a dream that they started erecting the spire, then I woke up. 😞

Ahh, the subtle difference between waking up to a spire and waking up with a spire...

I aspire to be this witty. Can't wait for this building to be at full mast.

Just saw something posted about how they are scrapping the cooling tower and spire because of engineering issues with wind stability. I'm going to re find it and link it in here.

I'm getting flashbacks to the "core out of plumb" unsubstantiated rumor bit.

Mainly for the new LEED Rhodium rating - a true self heating and cooling building. Much lower costs.
