With regard to Slumberland, that is definitely Chicago's old Federal Building in the last picture, as the "Post Office"

Architectural fiction seems a bit more durable to me, and potentially more influential. Contemporary architectural criticism by Geoff Manaugh of BldgBlog is the latest iteration of this idea. In this recent piece, Manaugh critiques a building through a more fictional voice, and the speculative nature of the writing suggests some new possibilities for architectural criticism.

I love Bioshock! But rapture is not the kind of city I would ever live in.

I was just gonna post NM from Halo 4 and Halo ODST but you beat me to it. The height, geometry and thinness of the buildings was excellent. There is a city in Halo: Reach which is equally interesting.

P.S. The sky tree city concept from Halo 2 (which was unfortunately scaled back before the final release) was also very interesting and more unique.

The places are real. But, you see, when both directors have never been to New York...

I personally love the Forerunner structures from Halo (these are from the Halo Wars game).

It took 50 posts and someone FINALLY posted pics of the Glass Tower.

I always thought that building was badass...

9 Movies Where Buildings Play a Big Role

Quote:
Since the dawn of filmmaking in the late 19th century, there has been a constantly evolving relationship between the age-old art form of architecture and the relatively modern medium of film. While many films utilize architecture to provide a sense of place through establishing shots, a number of filmmakers and directors have used real and fictional architecture as a means to convey moods, emotions, and ideas to the viewer.
