Bring it! I hope this spurs us to build a 300m behemoth.

^not quite, but it will be tall.

I like what I am seeing for the next tower, the hotel and residences.

Holy fucking SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

I was expecting 45ish stories and 600 ft from Stantec, never expected Edmonton to join the big boys and be right up there with Calgary and Vancouver.

MEGATON. Unbelievable the change this city's skyline is going to undergo over the next half decade. Now 102st PLEASE!

102 at 161m ^in that location would work very well still... Hopefully Enbridge follows Stantec's suit.

I love the way Stantec blends in with the other proposed buildings in the district! And I think the building is quite attractive in my opinion! Hope it get's built. It'll show that you can have a mixed-use Tall building out here and have a pretty nice looking building in the process! The blow-out height for Edmonton is what impresses me even more!

By the way Boris.... I remember when you made the remark a while back about Edmonton's potential BOOM, I agreed then and maybe now it'll come to fruition!

It's too bad 102 wasn't proposed at 230 meters. Now THAT is a great design and would be an absolute signature. Regardless, at least it will stand out, and close the gap between the current ~145 meter skyline and the future ~230 meter Stantec tower.

multiple?

I can only think of the taller Mirvish Gehry and that is a pie in the sky until someone much larger and experienced comes on board.

Toronto hasn't been killing it in the supertall department, but in 200 meter plus towers/construction projects/proposals, we can hold our own. At least in Canada.

You said it was a pie in the sky to even get approved and that happened... don't be so negative all the time. A strong vision with willpower can accomplish quite a bit. And I think even you will be surprised with the end result. We also have the Oxford proposals, as well as 45 Bay (the tallest tower is within super tall height), and the 1 Yonge tallest tower is within striking distance and has a high chance of being upgraded in height.

LOL hold our own? We have 22 towers over 200m currently built or u/c plus another 20 that are proposed for a total of 42. The next closest is Calgary at 5 or (6) if you count the Kings On Fourth tower which is on hold. TO is dominating, forget holding our own.

And it's not just in Canada. Toronto is #3 on this continent for 200m+ towers only behind NYC and Chicago. We are doing VERY well.

Awesome news for Edmonton. The tower might seem clinical in design but after looking at a few different renders I think there is something about it which is uniquely appropriate for Edmonton and given the context for where it is I think it looks fantastic actually. Edmonton sure is jumping in with both feet into the skyscraper game post-airport relocation!

I do not see the need for downplaying reality. The stats speak for themselves. Why be shameful of the biggest boom in any Canadian city's history? Be proud of it.
