[Austin,TX] - Skyline Shots from Around Town

With Austin's ever-growing skyline, I took advantage of a clear autumn day to gram skyline shots from west and southwestern Hill Country vantage points. Enjoy!

PS... Sorry for the 'specs' of dust appearing on most photos. Time to clean the sensor area.

...From inner city suburb of Rollingwood, approx 3 miles W of downtown:

Mopac (Loop 1) @ Barton Skyway, approx 3 miles SW of downtown:

...From the Barton Creek Mall parking lot, approx 4-5 miles SW of downtown:

Univeristy of Texas

...From Southwest Austin, overlooking the Barton Creek valley and Mopac Expressway (Loop 1).

...From the Loop 360 Scenic Overlook, approx 6 miles W of downtown:

Others taking in the same view.

From Shepperd Mountain, on the city's WNW side...

Loop 360 and the Bull Creek Valley, also from Shep. Mt:

From the southeast side, Highway 71 at Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA):

...From the northwest side of town; Mopac (Loop 1) @ 183:

Great photos, Mopacs. One question, though. What is that white thing on the horizon - kind of shaped like a mountain - in this photo?

I think that's Great Hills Baptist Church at the edge of the plateau. It's "anti-gay central headquarters" in this region.

Oops..sorry for the belated rply.

Yes, that is the Great Hills Baptist Church. The massive church is located along Jollyville Rd, near Braker Lane. The large building to the right is a new retirement mid-rise along Great Hills Trail.
