The difference is almost staggering.

If Montreal had simply followed the NHL list, available online to any hockey fan sitting on his couch in his jammies, beer in hand, they would have gotten 602 more games and 456 more points out of all of their picks since 2009.

The Habs also could have saved all the money they spend on their scouting department and spent that on salaries to hold onto and attract better players!

Full article for those who can read French:

Such as pointless article.

Basically he’s saying the Habs should’ve picked the best of the Central Scouting in every draft, which the Habs have mostly done, then says the Habs didn’t pick the best ranked European-ranked player by Central Scouting. He himself says in the article that the only times the Habs have really messed up based on his system is taking Tinordi over Kuznetsov and McCarron before Zykov... I'm all for scrutinizing Habs management but every team has similar draft mistakes you can look at in hindsight.

Either way he could have used another season in junior developmentally, IMO.

If he's not an offensive defenseman then....what is he? A small defenseman that moves the puck out of his zone? If he's paired with Weber he has to be the puck mover and distributor out of the zone but there are plenty of guys who are bigger that can fill that role. Mete's there for his offensive upside as well. Either way, he could have had a chance to put up a great OHL season and gone on a long playoff run which would have been very good experience for him, but instead he was rushed onto an NHL team. We'll have to see what the future holds.
1st bolded: He did that last year, he was the Knights best D ahead of Juolevi and was also top 10 in the league. Even then he wasn't an offensive force (he lacks a good shot and raw skills).
2nd bolded: He could be a very good two-way puck mover that plays on the second powerplay and second pairing. Similar to a Jared Spurgeon with less offense.

Btw, London was a middle of the pack team that was rebuilding this year. He probably would've been traded like Robert Thomas but I really, really doubt that would've taught him anything he doesn't know yet at the Junior level as he was one of the best Dmen in that league last year. He's much better learning from NHL defensemen and coaching.

Video posted on HF Boards yesterday showing Elias Petterssons slap shot clocked at 97.6 mph. Pretty god for a forward. Pettersson does everything well. Sedin level hockey IQ, but with more weapons.

Winnipeg could really use a big game from their Amish superstar. If Laine is scoring, the Jets take the series.

Winnipeg looked bigger, faster, stronger tonight. Seen this before though. Things can change in a hurry.

Getting Mathieu Perrault back in the lineup was huge for the Jets. He adds to the speed game that the Jets need to play to break through the Preds defensive tactics. Still not a done deal though. You've got to win 4 games and the Preds have their backs up against the wall. Here's to whiteout noise and clinching the series at home on Monday!

At least they’re doing better than the Raptors, who haven’t even won one game against the Cavs.

Well there's a reason Nashville made it to the finals last year. They might do it again this year never know.
And ya Toronto had a dumpster fire series. Poor Drake.

Winnipeg better not pull off what Toronto did against Boston in Round 1.

The Bolts will have the better chance of winning the Cup. I feel bad for the Caps because it took them twenty years just to reach to the Conference Finals. At least they beat the Pens.

I didn't pay much attention to the NHL in the years when the Jets weren't around (what would have been the point? I mean really) and I was therefore shocked to learn that the Caps hadn't made it to the conference finals since 1998. I thought they were a good team for most of those years?!

Concur in full. Storybook year.

200-1 odds before the year started.
