Maybe we some colorful structures like this at Hemisfair.
A rub it in picture! I like the new GH just because of it's massive wall. Propably one of the biggest wall looking structures in the U.S. But I would pick the first proposal for sure!

Lets just hope Hemisfair park redevelopment turns out to be a "wow" factor!

If It was up to me I would make Hemisfair jaw dropping..... urban.

A city panel gave final approval to Ripley Entertainment for exterior renovations near the Alamo, but held firm on signage and 12-foot-wide sliding overhead doors.
Members of the Historic and Design Review Commission voiced concern Wednesday about visual clutter, light pollution and changes to the 1948 building that houses Ripley's Plaza Wax Museum, which is within view of the state shrine.
Ripley is converting the site to Louis Toussaud's Waxworks, with a new canopy and signage. Ripley's Moving Theater 3D will be in an adjoining part of the Art Moderne-style structure at 301 Alamo Plaza.
Commissioners supported staff's recommendation to eliminate two canopy signs that they said were unnecessary. Ripley officials said the signs should be permitted, since the two businesses each was below the 50-square-foot limit on total signage allowed in Alamo Plaza.
I work downtown, and I walk by Ripleys all the time, and I hate it. It just needs to move to another street, and away from the Alamo. Where was Historic and Design Review Commission when Ripley showed up. Oh yah, where was HDRC when the SA Zoo destroyed my childhood favorite ride, the von roll swiss sky ride!
Ripley simply did not play around when they plowed into their spaces. It was kinda vicious.
