Algiers Point Beach

Never heard of this development, but it seems a bit sketchy. Nevertheless, it is an interesting concept.http://http://www.wwltv.com/mb/news/...oint/205377083

i think for its location this should be a prettier, more interesting design. It doesn't have to be faux historic, but it looks like an Alberquerque bus stop.

I thought the Army Corp was going to dig out that strip and return it to river. It floods whenever the river rises.

What is going up behind the Piazza d'Italia? There's a fairly large obscure construction site that has had a tower crane on site for several months there. It's finally going vertical. What is it?

Cambria Suites.

Also good news about Charity Hospital. FEMA has awarded the state 10 million to remove asbestos and mold from the building. So it will be a clean slate for quick renovation after that.

Does anyone know what's going on at 2527 St. Bernard (near intersection with Broad)? There used to be a large warehouse there that looks like it was recently torn down.

For those who have not been by the airport recently, I drove down Airport Access Rd. and the cranes are all over the new airport site. You can tell work is in full swing. Just waiting to see those tower cranes coming up.

Speaking of tower cranes, does anybody know what the hold up is on 1031 Canal? The foundation for the tower cranes is there but I haven't seen any activity in months.

Also, for the airport junkies, Copa Airlines (the airline that does nonstop service to Panama City, Panama from MSY) is back to running a 737 on the route which will increase capacity for international travel this summer and more people using our airport.

Looking good...

I hope they eventually set up a webcam for the airport progress.
