Anyone know the current height? The core looks to be close to 300’

God she looks so good. That facade is gonna POP! I just wish this tower was in the center of the skyline as our tallest. Oh well, guess post office site will just need to be taller

I'm banking on 3rd and Congress to be honest. That location is smack in the middle of the waterfront skyline and more centrally located. Having said that, I would also expect to see something significant at the post office site as well.... Whenever that will be..

Don't sleep on the Hobby block. They will likely need to go pretty tall in order to subsidize the affordable housing the city and state want there.

Speaking of the Hobby block (and at the risk of getting off topic). Proposals were due in November. I'm guessing we might get a taste of what could be built there soon?

I really dig the facade IRL, much better than the renderings... especially the hint of burnt orange.

I completely spaced out on Hobby and I agree. Hopefully it will be 2,000 feet lol to beat OKC

I really doubt OKC will get built! A 1,900'er in Austin might look a bit too tall for our current skyline. However, too many 500'ers took a whole lot of sites and we have a very small CBD with limited New sites available. Unless IH-35 gets buried soon (awaiting construction) and the Capitol View Corridors are removed.

This Waterline tower is going to really Look Great with the cladding they chose! I hope this tower has set a standard for cladding and covering the parking. Let the new standard of towers design begin!

The year is 2053...user CheugyCap22 ponders the question in the Austin Updates thread..."so when's that post office site gonna be built up? Surely we'll see a proposal any day now..."

That OKC project is a joke (all together). However, some aspects may get built. But, the tallest tower in the western hemisphere - no. That building alone would cost somewhere in the ballpark of $5 billion. I find it hard to believe someone (or a group) would finance that big of a spec project in...OKC.

In order to accomodate the affordable housing wants: what we'll see will either be tall as you say, or quite possibly, there will be multiple towers. From what I've gathered there were at least three proposals submitted and a decision will be made at some point this year.
