reminds me of the old maple ridge-langley ferry which was discontinued after the golden ears bridge was built

anyway i think its the la crete ferry - i pass the turnoff all the time and have wnated to go check it out - in winter they have an ice bridge - i wanna check that one out too

Until this spring the Blue Boat transported Navy and DND Civ personnel from Collwood to HMC Dockyard and Naden on the Esquimalt side of the harbour.

This service was cancelled due to Treasury Board rules.
It was replaced by a pay as you go civilian service. If you have ever had to contend with the "Collwood Crawl" you would gladly pay for the shortcut.

Le Cabestan (which runs from Fortune, Newfoundland, to St-Pierre-et-Miquelon, France) is in St. John's for repairs.

There is also the Bleriot Ferry near Drumeller, AB. You almost wade across the river here.

The Kootenays are all round amazing and very hard to access. The Kootenay Bay Ferry terminal is only about 350 km from Calgary as the crow flies, but around a 6.5 hour drive due to winding mountain roads. Vancouver is around 9 hours away, Spokane, Washington around 3 hours.

I remember there being a ferry in Drumheller, crossing the Red Deer River. It looks like it is still around.

MV Marine Voyager - The only way in and out of Francois. It also serves Grey River and connects to the service centre of Burgeo.

Source - If you EVER get the chance to go to Grey River and Francois, take it. We recently lost Grand Bruit, which was an amazing place. Grey River and Francois may be the most beautiful places in all of Newfoundland and they won't be around forever. It is an amazing place.

MV Gallipoli - The only way on and off of Ramea Island. A small island community off Newfoundland's south coast. Also serves Grey River and connects back to the service centre of Burgeo.

Francois is, without a doubt, my absolutely favourite rural Newfoundland community. It doesn't even have roads - just wooden walkways. No cars. It is a sample of true historic Newfoundland life. And it is BEAUTIFUL.

We have a village like this also in Quebec. ( founded by fisherman fron NFLD)
