Good News!?

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me compile a quick list of "good news" that has happened over the last year or so. I'm thinking since summer of 2007. I'm thinking in terms of "big wins" for urban renewal, preferably downtown-centric

I'll start with:
unanimous council approval to go after LRT
lister deal finally secured
canmet at mip
city fights big boxes on innovation lands

any more ideas? i'm sure i'm missing some big ones.

Spallacci (however you spell it) building is very near to completion. Not only that but it looks good too.

Eastgate mall bus platforms.
Bike racks on buses, I don't bike, but rumour has it that other people do.

RHVP is open since Nov. 2007 with all the good and bad that it entails.

Lowes opens near Barton and Woodward. It's big box, I know, but it did result in a brown field cleanup.

James St. N continues to evolve - with Mixed Media moving into a new location.

Some really great pubs/restos/stores emerge or are reno'd: 316 lounge, gallaghers, gown and gavel, bad dog, shanghai tea, the courtyard, etc...

Thanks guys, i needed this so that I could remember all the good stuff that has happened since staff moved to city centre. I know that these are not directly caused by that move, but I firmly believe that a shift in mindset has happened since city hall moved.
