MONTREAL | Le V (Courtyard Marriott) | 138 M / 453 FT | 42 FLOORS | T/O

The Ville-Marie Marriott Courtyard Hotel will be located downtown on the corner of Bleury and René-Lévesque.

The developer is Canvar.

We have no official height statistics yet, though we do know the tower will have 40 floors. Given what we know about previous projects by this developer, i estimate the height to be between 132m-150m (and possibly more)

This project was revealed to the Montreal urban development community site mtlurb.com by member Gilbert and all credit for information and images goes to him.

The news of this building is still somewhat of a "scoop" and still somewhat new, and no official renderings have been released yet. The only images we have are these preliminary photocopies of scans. The scans show 37 floors but new renderings should reflect the increase to 40 floors.

In terms of current status, all signs point to construction work beginning early next spring. Preliminary preparation is already under way. Workers have been taking measurements and doing other ground work on the site.

This building would be Montreal's tallest skyscraper since 1992.

So again, excuse the poor quality, these are scans of photocopies. These images also show 37 floors when the final design will have 40.

---

Now some pics of the location and context:

WOW!!! Montreal is on a role!!! I am so glad to see so many wonderful proposals and construction projects pop up in this city. Great to see things in Montreal pop up like we have been seeing with Calgary, Toronto and so many other cities throughout our friendly neighbor of Canada. It also definitely won't be sad to see that parking lot be replaced as well!

it's just north of downtown proper and a few blocks west of the old city, the current downtown marriot is across the street from the Chateau Champlain at Place Du Canada

Nice addition. Too bad it's not office for more visual impact on the skyline, but a 40-story hotel there is going to look great. I think I'm really going to like the narrow profile views.

If this thing starts, I will buy a camera, no doubt. It is literally a few blocks from where I live.

Construction has begun! They've begun driving columns into the earth and working on the foundation. There's already a fairly deep hole and it's growing daily!

Here's a new rendering, provided by Gilbert of mtlurb.com. Many thanks to him!
The rendering was photoshopped slightly by me to basically combine two halves into one image.
