Thanks. Do you live in East Coast 1? I like the plaza design a lot. Maybe the success of the neighborhood changed the fundamentals for the library design.

Carlos as I said before, the site does have some work on it. In your pictures you can see some mounds and on those mounds are some pipes. In all likelihood those pipes are being used to freeze the ground so they can dig out the foundation due to the soft and probably very wet nature of the ground by the waterfront.

Unfortunately, it takes months for the ground to freeze so it is not an overnight process.

Carlos, I'm not a fan of the library. It's too bland and simple. Something of which I've never liked from modern buildings. I can see how some people may like it though, as it's not terrible. Anyways, I think it's mostly got to do with how there's going to be huge blobs at night.

yes it is a school..rendering for the new middle school/high school in the Hunters Point South megaproject. By September 2013 this thing's going to be a 145,000-square-foot school building hugging one of the new residential towers.
Among other things, it's got a cafeteria with outdoor space and a river view. Snazzy!

Amazing that they're actually starting this development off with a school. LIC is a bit over-burdened...very nice.
