the great cities of france are some of the greatest human creations in history. i have to see lyon. next time i am in geneva i should go down for a night or two...

lyon is a sister city to st. louis, wish they would loan us a few blocks...

I love that type of urbanism. Dense pedestrian activity, streets lined with mid rises, good blend of styles. And how can you go wrong with a dope name like "Lyon"? Love it.

Just love how healthy Lyon is. There's some kind of real fighting spirit over there, they won't give up. Beware, they're proud, sometimes arrogant and harsh, that's the ugly dark side of their local culture, strength and will to survive. But that old city is an undeniable major plus for France. If there wasn't centralization, that perverse legacy of older Catholicism, I think it would challenge Paris more seriously...

Looking forward to the Part-Dieu further development of course...

The first is in Confluence.
The second picture is east of the Tête d'Or park near Charpennes, so about the oposite side of the inner city.
