^I was referring to the base treatment and the crown. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though I'm not saying it's beautiful.

Thanks for sharing the details on the 1136 S. Wabash project, BVic.

Did you hear or see anything interesting on the Hilton project that was also presented?

Looks like a (less elegant) redux of their old proposal that was for Clark/Chestnut. Though, it's still decent. But hot damn, that will eat up one big-ass parking lot. And it will be directly behind my office .

i still wouldnt use the adjective futuristic, unless you consider that to mean a few angled lines?

and as far as the "crown"...looks like its chasing the late 90s pagoda trend if anything

it also falls back on using a cut-out up the side of the building. again...lots of played out cliches all throw together.

Yes, that was presented too. It's kind of pomo. Surprisingly enough, the hotel was designed by DeStafano.

They are pouring concrete, above ground level now. Drove by at 630 and there was still a line of trucks waiting to unload.

Played out is an understatement! It's 'Sliced minimalism' at it's best (ie worst). All it is missing is blank wall with a stupid IKEA kitchen pixelated backsplash pattern.

200 N Cityfront Plaza

Does anyone know anything about this? Its that vacant lot along the river across the street from NBC along the river. It might be a student project?
