Great Neck, NY

Here are a few shots of Great Neck.

Manhattan from Great Neck Harbor.

Great Neck has no shortage of mansions.

....and over 75 major apartment buildings like this.....

Part of the Bronx taken from Steppingstone Park, Great Neck.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Excellent pics. Great Neck is a good example of suburbia done right.

It's also interesting in that it has a large population of Persian Jews, who relocated to the area following the Iranian Revolution. It's the second largest concentration of Persians in the U.S., after Beverly Hills/LA area.

Great Neck looks like a nice place to live, I'll be it quite expensive there. BTW those major apartment building could easily be placed down in part of Los Angeles and fit right in. I was down in Orange County (Anaheim to be exact) this morning and noticed they have recently built very large apartment complexes all over the place on some of the main blvd. Tustin, and many other OC communities I drove through during the summer seems to be copying this format as well. Anyway thanks for sharing, I could see myself easily living some place like this.

Nice looking town. There sure are a lot of window A/C units in all those buildings. I guess it's not cost effective up there to upgrade to central A/C.

Huh, I had no idea. I assumed it was nice, but mostly just big houses. Cool tour.
