302 feet is going to be quite prominent on the Woodlands skyline. But I want to see the building permit in the HBJ before assuming it's definite.

Isn't there another 30-story tower planned there that is supposed to be about 400 feet?

That office tower is "Superblock East". It will rise to 27-floors, 412' feet. It needs a tenant to move ahead.

More on it here: http://www.colliers.com/p-usa1001315

This and Superblock East aren't the only new high-rises coming to The Woodlands.

There's also:
- ~12-story 2 Waterway Square Hotel
- 20-ish story 1 Waterway Square Condo High-rise
- another tower to be announced for Anardarko in the near future (Anadarko Tower III), with a fourth tower for the company on the boards.

From information on HAIF this thing could get leased pretty soon, and that it may be as many as 22 stories(it had the same design as EC III but looks like it might now mirror EC IV). I'm impressed by the pull of The Woodlands. Has quite a few big companies and counting and an increasingly interesting skyline for a suburb!

10 Waterway Avenue Coming Soon; 22 Stories

The Woodlands has 3 Fortune 500 companies
2 Fortune 250 companies have presented proposals to locate here with median annual salaries 100K/125K; The Woodlands is on the "short list"; the moves would represent 1500 jobs and would "fill up 10 Waterway Avenue".

Thanks Htowngrown, didn't catch this. I hope the upward bump in floor count comes with a better design. Will change the floor count once we get something more concrete.

Local or out-of-towners?

After Years of talks, new Woodlands office building on track for groundbreaking

Quote:
For three years, Bob Parsley, co-chairman and principal of Colliers in Houston, has been working to get a planned north Houston office building off the ground. Throughout Houston's prolonged energy slump, interest in 10 Waterway, a proposed office building in The Woodlands, has waned.

Now that the office market's worst days are behind us, though, Parsley said he expects to lease an anchor tenant for the building this year, which would kick off the building's groundbreaking.

Parsley, alongside Colliers' Norm Munoz, is marketing 10 Waterway, which will add between 400,000 and 500,000 square feet to the Woodlands office market once it delivers. It's being planned by The Woodlands Development Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dallas-based Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC). If the building breaks ground this year, it would likely deliver in 2020, Parsley said.

Interest has picked up among companies looking to take either a large portion or the entirety of the building.

"There are companies that are feeling good about the future," he said.

It's been years, but the proposal is still alive. The tower's been reduced to 17-stories but Howard Hughes is still updating a leasing brochure for the project.

This is as of June of last year.
