Amazing Homes Thread

Searched, couldn't find one. I think it's time we get a thread for awesome houses. We have them for bridges, skyscrapers, but no homes? Come on you guys!

Like in a dream, live in the most expensive apartment in Dumbo Brooklyn – The infamous “Clocktower” apartment complex is selling its top floor triplex penthouse apartment. ($25 million )

The apartment has a great history of once being a factory, and it is also very unique! Check out these pictures of the “Clocktower” penthouse apartment that were published in the New York Times this week.

Is the clock still operational? I do hope they switched its components over to more modern ones, because the sound of the functioning clock would drive me crazy!

This has always been one of my favorite homes. It's located in Victoria B.C. and for sale through Sotheby's for around $17.5 million USD.

Looks like you stopped everyone in their tracks with that one, Hammersklavier!

If I could choose any house I've every seen to live in, it would be Vaux le Vicomte in France. Saw it on a school trip 21 years ago, still remember it vividly:

I ever wished a house like those, but the clock penthouse is really incredible for the through clock around.

Instead of using hood in this salloon i would prefer a 'porcelanato ceramic very big shinning white plates' all over. I don't like much hood inside a house. Just for some very old objects like a Lamp or old Clock for contrast, nothing more. Even if has few doors, could be in hard plastic white or alumninum. Hood brings much insects and do not hold good for ever.

I don't care for much of FLW's later interiors.

I can't think of anywhere I'd rather live than a penthouse in New York.

The Fish House

Quote:
The Fish House, located in Singapore, was designed by Guz Architects to feel at one with nature. The luxurious home features natural ventilation for Singapore’s hot and humid climate, a green roof with thin bendable photovoltaic panels that supply energy to the whole house, and large windows. The undulation of the curved roof mimics the ocean waves.

^gorgeous.

me I just want a little cottage somewhere urban.

A London mews house would be ideal - secret cobbled lanes, former stables, stoop to get in the door. 2 bedrooms, pricetag $12 million:

My dream home would be Norman Foster's villa on the Côte d'Azur:

Look at that view

^ noice (as they say in Australia) here's the view from Hearst Castle:

...I thought it was farther inland. I read that it's about 8km from the ocean, but that must be 8km along a long windy road up into the hills.
