Ditto. Well-traveled people used to experiencing nouveau cuisine or "fresh" concepts won't be satisfied with that mix of ingredients OR presentation. Absolutely misses on any number of fronts.

Hits and misses, but overall I enjoyed it.

Nachos were delicious
Mushroom burger good
Noodles tasty, but pricey
Dessert was ok, but dry.

Ordered some off menu item that my colleague recommended. The Monster...or something like that. sliced beef, chicken, chorizo, onions and green peppers on top of 10 or so tortilla shells. insanely delicious.

Their home made sauces are great.

The ampersand is so ubiquitous in Gastown that I think it's been unofficially renamed as AmpersandTown. Maybe because it's vaguely similar-looking to a side profile of a guy with a manbun?

Went to Kanu cafe downtown. Vegan restaurant.

Good interior. Good service. Above average food. A bit too pricy imo for what you get on a plate. Menu also seems a bit limited but that may just be because of the vegan nature of it.

'Whole new world': New provincial rules give restaurants, bars more liquor options
CLARE CLANCY Updated: October 22, 2018

Alberta bartenders can expand their craft cocktail menus thanks to new provincial liquor rules allowing them to infuse spirits with fruit, herbs and spices.

“We’re obviously pretty happy about it,” said Evan Watson, co-owner at Bar Clementine on Jasper Avenue and 119 Street. “We get a whole new world to play with.

“This is something we’ve all mythically spoken about for the longest time.”

The rules also give bars and restaurants the chance to create house-aged liquor products, said a Monday news release. Albertans interested in creating personal brews can also take home beer and wine they make at licensed facilities.

OEB soft opening this morning. Great looking space, cosy, living room feel almost and good food. My photos do not do taste justice; that double smoked bacon was amazing. Portions are significant. What a great addition to the core.

Had lunch yesterday at Tokiwa Ramen (11978 104 Ave in the Brewery District*) with my brother and his fiancee. I had the Tokyo tonkotsu, while my brother had the black garlic ramen and his fiancee had the yuzu ramen with an extra egg and mushrooms.

The ramen I had was quite good, and while there was a lineup, we didn't have to wait that long, and service was quick and friendly.

*Located in the northeast side of the Brewery District just west of the GoodLife Fitness and Shoppers Drug Mart.
