Not sure why you're saying this - I like the fact that it is expanding the skyline north. Possibly you're saying we should use up the vacant lots in the core first ? Lets just hope there are more than enough projects to go around in the future - anyhow, I'm liking it.

Epcor will be very visible on the skyline as it is surrounded by virtually nothing. It will be nice to have such a fresh new look for the Edmonton skyline.

While it will be nice to have a larger skyline northward, there were/are far better lots awaiting a tower that would have added more immediate density to the core and greater feeling that we are a bigger city.

^ I'm not sure it will even be visible from the traditional Saskatchewan Drive view of DT. If so...just the very top.

Here's Epcor with the rest of the skyline. It will be extremely visible from the East.

Now I'm not sure where Absolute World fits in:To the top 11-30 or to the top 10?

Anyway... I found some cool renders that I don't think I'd seen before. The aerial shots seem to show a fairly accurate rendition of how these towers will appear at the MCC. The curves are definitely apparent at moderate distances. Personally I wish Ice in DT T.O. had AW curves with Ice's height.

IMO X looks a little TOO Wide at it's sides and that makes it look less tall... But from the North/South it looks great!... From the shots i took it's gonna be a HUGE cluster once Boutique and X2 are built... But it's gonna TOTALLY block out EVERYTHING (Manulife, Casa, BSN, Crystal Blu, Uptown) cause couture is shaped like X Condo (wide east/west facing sides)... We'll see

I'm SOOO sad!.... 1BE would have looked SOOO sexy from those shots ^^^

Agreed Steveve. Until I see new renders of the GG Number One Bloor, I still can't let go of the other one. I even saved the promotional video from the website. That's where these screen captures came from:

One Bloor is long dead and buried ... let it go

Sure it was tall but its design was average at best and "average" for such a tall tower is not we want.

Jeez, Are you're ever obsessed with girth. X's dimensions are just fine.

You're a bitter little pill aren't you sacamano? You suck the life out of everything. How sad. Not to mention your thinly veiled homophobic comments... Totally unnecessary in an open forum for discussion.

Okay... srry Sacamano... this will be probably one of (or my) last posts of Bazis' 1BE...

I really loved how 1BE balanced the skyline to the north and how it made balance to the rest of the skyline aside from the CBD...I also like how it kind of marked the "end" of the skyline to the north sorta like saying "this is were it ends!"... Cause right now from a distance it's hard to tell were the borders of downtown are... It also "in a way" extends the skyline as it shows there are really tall buildings away from the CBD...

*I think 1BE's design was just fine and it actually fit's in to the Yorkville skyline (aside from it's towering height ).. I wouldn't want something crazy like Absolute world rising so tall at Yonge-Bloor cause it would look messy and clash with the rest of the skyline...

GG is gonna have a REAL challenge when it comes to rivalling what Bazis did in terms of height for 1BE... Chances are we won't see anything near as tall as 1BE from GG

Let's "try" to get back on topic! ***if there IS something on topic to talk about

I dont know but, I find continuing to cry over some failed tower in the midst of a renewed building boom as sucking the life out of things as well as unnecessary spam. Time to move on to better things.

P.S. I don't know or care of steveve's sexual preference. In either case, he's jail bait.

"since when did I get dragged into this???!!!"... lol but wtf people!!???

AND SPEAKING of Totally unnecessary in an open forum for discussion. what about THAT comment... this is a casual thread ok?...

You can say whatever you want as long as it has something to do with what someone said... and it should be related to skyscrapers (but you don't need to SPAZ if someone says something off topic once in a while)

And I have to agree with Traynor on that.. you do need to calm down a little Sacamano... We're all here to have fun and talk about our interest in skyscrapers and related topics... You are being immature with those comments and NO I AM NOT GAY!... NOT EVERYBODY IS LIKE YOU

and watch your language.... there are kids on this website! (and other websites too... if you know what i mean )

***and if you haven't noticed Sacamano... your line is "You are sooooo goodlookin"... if you have't noticed 99% of the people on this website are probably men so............................

What have i done to you Sacamano to deserve these unnecessary comments????!!!! (aside from what i just said )

***and don't mess with Traynor cause he's new... and everyone deserves to be welcomed

Be more happy (or gay - jks.) Sacamano and to all members on skyscraperpage... seriously... the world will be a happier place

Let's all be friends
ok?

Peace

***and nice shots of Festival Caltrane
