the observation tower is a pre fab building where parts would be brought in, its not a real stationary observation tower because it slowly goes up and town, I believe the tower would acually be 45 stories, the tallest one they can make

here is some buildings to compare it to

CN Tower: 1,815 feet (553 metres)

Calgary Tower: 525 feet (160 metres)

Manulife Place, Edmonton: 479 feet (146 metres)

Proposed Sky Tower: 450 feet (137 metres)

Renaissance Apartments, Saskatoon: 260 feet (79.2 metres

so, with that Saskatoon based observation tower, you'll be able to see the Calgary Tower?

Neat, however I imagine it will look totally different by the time all those development sites get built.

^That's crazy. Can you possibly post the original? I can't tell the existing towers from those photoshopped!

^Well partially. Lots of them are already well underway. But, many of them will not start up until the market recovers (particularly on the residential side) . The housing market softened long before oil and gas prices declined late last year.

Geeze, I don't know about that vanman. Between 1972-1977 Vancouver had six office towers built over 400 feet tall. Granted Vancouver's office towers aren't as tall as Calgary's but there were more of them.

From the Calgary Future Skyling Renderings thread, CtrlAltDel drops the biggest bomb on us yet!

Thanks to Wooster for double checking for me. Boris2k7 is MIA!

btw: Maldive is getting a write up in the National Post - Toronto Section because of his future renderings of Toronto.

So those pictures we can't view any longer at this site will be posted at the National Post site once the storey goes to print.

The National Post Storey prints on Saturday.
