Only two more floors to go by my count. This one makes a much bigger impact on the skyline than I thought it would.
If the multitude of other towers proposed for the Rainey St District ever get started, the Rainey area will have a pretty impressive skyline by itself.

And to think, it wasn't that long ago we were lamenting losing the old Rainey neighborhoods. I wonder if anyone still misses the way it was, now...
70R is an awesome gap filler, and I really like the skyline extension to the south east. I don't mind that line up at all, except for the low rise condos north of Van Zandt. What a waste of vertical potential.

Well, those are on the east side of rainey so at the very least, they'll likely be blocked by whatever gets built across.

But I agree, they had such a huge piece of land to work with, and ended up with something that would just about pass muster in west campus....

It does appear to be topped out. That looks like the mechanical level at top.

Been a while since I drove by it but I did today. This building is way sexier and way more impactful on the skyline than I expected. Very good gap-filler from the 35 side.

The black stripes compliment the weird all-blackness of Hotel Van Zandt really well.

I think it also compliments Hotel Van Halen.

Actually looks like the big brother of the Westin downtown.

EDIT: actually, maybe a second cousin once removed.

Dang I really like how this is turning out. Its an awesome add to the Austin Pan Handle, or the Rainey Street Peninsula if you prefer. The reflective glass and horizontal black lines makes this ooze with elegance. This may become one of my favorites. And yes I know a peninsula is surrounded by water on two sides, but I'm taking a descriptive liberty here.

According to that article, they will have greenery on the side of the parking garage. Too often the greenery doesn't make it from the renderings to reality. Corvairkeith's photo shows the planting boxes:

Agree. It's a shame it's not going on the west-facing side of the building though. That's what's visible from the lake...
