Cobourg is beautiful. Several of the small cities and towns East of Toronto on Lake Ontario are gems.

Further East down the 401 is Brockville, which is another very impressive looking small city. Pan around 360 degrees with this streetview link and try and guess the population without looking it up. https://goo.gl/maps/shqeR2awqx12

I don't know about that. It's mentioned every now and then among my circles in Toronto as it has many attractive qualities. In the end though, it's a very small, white town.

This photo tour reminded me of a website from a few years ago that documented small Ontario towns. I wonder if it's still around.

We started looking outside but didn't really consider Cobourg at that time.

I had heard from several people since that it was a very nice town so July long weekend I went to have a look. Needless to say I was blown away! I immediately retained an agent and started looking for a house, went back on September long weekend with my wife and she loved the place too.

On December 20th we took possession of our next home in Cobourg, and arranged to have it rented until our retirement in 2018. Can't wait to move!

^ Wondered where you would end up, congratulations on finding a home in a beautiful place.

The way Manitoba was run into the ground in the past 17 years a lot Manitobans will be looking to relocate upon retirement, myself included!

Most small towns in Canada are predominantly white.

The horror! (apparently)

My question is why do we have a forum for Ontario since the Canada thread seems to be the place where the Ontario citizens put all its threads? Same thing with that Cobourg Ont thread. If it was Lethbridge or Nanaimo it would have been sent too the proper forum.

This forum is awfully insecure about Ontario. The thread is from 2013 BTW....

And nobody cares what you think!

Maybe be considerate and not muck up this fellow's thread with your vile vitriol, OK?

No one is mucking up anything. I'm simply making a comment, just like you ☺

I would disagree with this forum being insecure about Ontario. I would suggest the opposite, since Ontario has it's own forum. Why was this thread placed in the Canada section?

Perhaps the poster was new and did not understand the forum correctly?

That makes sense and perhaps should have been the answer?

Nah I was actually going to post towns from all over the place using "town focus" in the title, like a little series. Figured it would be a neat way for people across the country to see places they probably haven't seen before. Unfortunately it appears some would rather live in their own little bubble so good thing I was Iazy and only made one.

EDIT: Just went back and read my initial post and I basically said I would be posting towns from all over Canada. I guess you chose to ignore that or were just so enraged by seeing Ontario you had to voice your displeasure right away without even reading the first post?
