City of Light

The work on the Salesforce tower continues through the night.

I have noticed that many high-rises now have colored lights, some which are animated.

View is from the Civic Center 01/21/2017

Would any of you be kind enough to make this rendering without Oceanwide?

This image might be flawed, I am predicting that Park Tower at Transbay is visible (or at least its cranes) before the cranes & curtain walls are finished on both 181 Fremont and Salesforce Tower.

It doesn't even have Transbay Block 5 or Block 8.

I repeat: If you really want to beat this drum, go talk to the Planning Commission and try to convince them an observation deck is a form of "public open space" that the city lacks and needs, and ask them to apply pressure to the developer of the next tall project to include one. That's likely the only way it will happen judging by the complete lack of interest displayed by the developers of 100% of the recent projects in SF (and the shutting down of the existing deck at Embaracero Center and the closing of the view restaurants atop the Bank of America Building and the St. Francis Hotel tower).

You would need one elevator devoted to the observation deck. That would mean a larger core which would mean every single floor would lose footage and revenue because of it. The city would have to agree to subsidize the loss of revenue for the life of the building.
