Maybe they live there...?

I thought that would be obvious.

True! China hires a lot of American Architects, and from what i know they are mostly Chicagoan architects!

I really like this tower. If I was a Billionaire I'd build it in my back yard.

It's been said before, but I wish a tower like this had been proposed for 1WTC. It looks like a modern version of 70 Pine or 40 Wall street, and its silhouette would have brought lower Manhattan right back to its 1930's glory. KPF (which is a New York firm, btw) seems to do more spectacular work out of town.

^ As I stated in an earlier post, this is one of the few Chinese towers I'd like to see being build in NY (Lower Manhattan). Would be pretty epic.

Maybe the Fullerman building could be a base for a similar tower. Asia's always getting the good stuff.

Exactly- the closest thing there is to the promenade room on the Glass Tower in Towering Inferno

Man I wish this tower was in the US

Not to continue the off topic discussion too much, but I also think this would be great in downtown NYC. It's a little more conservative than other Chinese skyscrapers.

On the topic of the building itself, at least the Chinese developers seem to get the desire for awesome observation decks and restaurants in the sky. I'm still gutted over the loss of the restaurant at 1 WTC.

Oh yes, they definitely do. One of my favorite obs decks is the one in KingKey 100.
