Worst case global warming and skyscrapers

Suppose (for the sake of argument) the icecaps really melt.
How will coastal skyscrapers fare? Will they rise up like islands, or will they be washed away by the waves?

The structures usually aren't designed to take that sort of water damage, so they'd probably get condemned pretty quick, but they'd stay standing for a while probably.
